Capstone Initiates Coverage on the Professional Training Market

May 22, 2006

Boston, MA - Capstone Partners LLC, a national, middle-market investment banking firm, has released a research report on the professional training market, citing robust growth driven by changing population demographics and employment trends.  Capstone expects the professional training market to experience increased consolidation activity over the next 12 to 24 months.

Jeff Baker, Capstone’s business services analyst, commented, “Population demographics have undergone a massive shift over the last two decades, and these shifts are dramatically affecting the structure of the employment market.  In addition, intensifying global competition has increased the importance of developing and maintaining a highly-skilled and productive workforce.  With these trends, the demand for professional training has increased.”

Jim Beakey, Managing Director and head of Capstone’s Business Services Group, believes that the professional training market is ripe for consolidation, saying, “To date, the sector has experienced significant M&A activity.  However, given the number of small and medium-sized vendors, many of which do not have the scale to compete long-term with the large, diversified competitors, we expect consolidation activity to accelerate over the next 12 to 24 months.”
