Capstone Partners Honored as “Top 20 Best Places to Work”

June 5, 2006

The Boston Business Journal has named Capstone Partners LLC one of the Best Places to Work in Massachusetts in its fourth annual regional awards program. The honor recognizes the company's achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of employee satisfaction, working conditions and company culture.

With national headquarters in Boston, Capstone was one of more than 300 companies to qualify for consideration, making the top 20 list based on the results of employee-satisfaction surveys taken throughout the spring.  "We are extremely proud of the culture our team has created; we enjoy a very unique environment in the investment banking community,” commented John Ferrara, Capstone’s founder and managing partner.  He added, “Our team’s cohesiveness can be largely attributable to the fact that we are all shareholders.  We all share in the success of our clients as well as the firm overall.”

"For the fourth year in a row, our results validate how the creation of the right corporate culture can create powerful business advantages," said George Donnelly, Boston Business Journal editor.  Donnelly continued, "Employees are proud to work for companies that are about more than just business."

"Accommodating employees' personal needs pays back dividends of loyalty and productivity," said Boston Business Journal Publisher Michael Olivieri. "The companies on our list recognize that their commitment to employees is especially important as the economy strengthens and competition for talent continues to grow."  Olivieri continued, "The Best Places to work know the care and growth of their employees is instrumental in maintaining the quality and reputation for services and products."

"At Capstone, our clients are our lifeblood and we treat them as such.  This means that we all focus on working together as a team to deliver quality service first and foremost,” commented Jim Beakey, a director with Capstone.  Beakey continued, “Since we put our own interests aside for this purpose, we have created a very powerful team based culture.”

The top 20 companies in four size categories will be profiled in a special supplement of the Boston Business Journal to be published on June 23, 2006.  A countdown celebration breakfast will be held on June 22 to announce the final rankings - including the top company in each category.  The survey project itself was launched in January by the Boston Business Journal in conjunction with market research firm QMR Inc. of Wichita, Kansas. Companies were evaluated on the results of more than 20,000 employee-satisfaction surveys.

Employees answered questionnaires that addressed such factors as their pride in the company, company encouragement, support and recognition of achievement and relationships with co-workers and supervisors. The results were analyzed and scored by assigning points to each question.
