Capstone's President and Managing Partner, John Ferrara, was referenced in a recent article in Investment Dealer's Digest on "The Wall Street Diaspora." Ferrara was highlighted as one of the bankers who, left dangling after corporate firm closure, took his Wall Street skills with him and opened his own investment banking boutique. Like many others, Ferrara chose to focus on what he considers to be the underserved middle market. What sets Capstone apart from this small new wave of boutiques, is its industry-specific focus and a put-your-money-where-your-mouth-is mentality. Capstone maintains a competitive edge, investing its own capital in clients, which is rare but much needed for companies in the middle market. In Capstone's first few months, it closed about 40 transactions worth about $1.5 billion.
