November 21, 2003

Boston, MA -- November 21, 2003 -- Capstone Partners LLC, a national investment banking advisory firm solely dedicated to middle market transactions, today announced the addition of James A. Beakey, Jr. as vice president in the firm. Beakey’s industry relationships and track record in the mergers and acquisitions marketplace reinforce Capstone’s commitment to providing senior management expertise to all deals.

“Jim’s personal style and investment banking capabilities will round out the capabilities Capstone delivers entrepreneurs pursuing complex transactions,” said John M. Ferrara, president and managing partner of Capstone Partners. “Investment banking relies heavily on trusted relationships and industry sector proficiency. Jim’s diverse background will help Capstone source new opportunities in the retailing, specialty materials and engineering components markets, while strengthening our leadership position in the food and beverage industry.”

Beakey joins Capstone after serving in the consumer department of the mergers and acquisitions firm Adams, Harkness & Hill in Boston. At Adams, Harkness he worked on both buy-side and sell-side engagements in addition to public and private financings with a total deal value of nearly $1 billion. Beakey has also founded and managed his own business, an experience that afforded him insight into the hurdles and challenges faced by shareholders and entrepreneurs as they seek growth capital and manage operations.

A resident of Dedham, Massachusetts, Beakey earned a bachelor of arts from Trinity College and a masters of business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
