Capstone Partners Debuts Fellowship Program
August 26, 2003
Capstone is pleased to announce the successful kick-off of its educational fellowship program. Capstone has developed special programs to provide college scholarships to inner city youths and offer real-time training for emerging undergraduate entrepreneurs. Capstone plans to fund these efforts through contributions of fees generated from client transactions. “I think most of us have benefited from some breaks in our careers, or grown from the wisdom of a prior mentor. This is just our way of throwing the rope over the wall and offering others the same opportunities” explained John Ferrara, Capstone's President and Managing Partner.
Capstone's first program occurred over the summer as Capstone hosted three Fellows from Harvard and Cornell, all of whom will be receiving scholarships and stipends to further their educations. Scott Yen, who helped engineer the program for Capstone, explained, “The results have been tremendous. The feedback we received from our initial program exceeded even our own expectations. Ultimately, we sent a group of students back to school better educated on the business world and much more competitive in this employment market. We had a lot of fun with it.”
